Get Letters USERTECH/Canterbury's first
official client was the Mobil Oil Corporation. At the time,
Mobil was implementing one of the first globally integrated,
proprietary Human Resource and Payroll Systems (HURIS).
The project, and our role in it, proved to be eminently
successful, and it was the first of many with Mobil for
our fledgling organization. From
there, the company began to expand, and our band of full-time
writers
and editors began managing larger engagements for AT&T,
Kraft Foods, and other notable clients. At that same
time USERTECH/Canterbury began its ongoing association with e-Learning,
custom building one of the earliest PC-hosted computer-based
training modules. Through
the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, USERTECH/Canterbury expanded
our geographical reach to serve more clients in the West
and Mid-West. We continued our focus on traditional training
and documentation engagements, while simultaneously adding
more client-server technology to augment our delivery channels —e-Learning
meets CD/ROM and Local Area Networks. In
1994, USERTECH/Canterbury was acquired by the Ceridian Corporation—the
HR/Payroll people from Minneapolis, MN. This period saw
USERTECH/Canterbury grow
significantly as more and more organizations sought
to implement new technology in advance of Year 2000 and
asked
USERTECH/Canterbury for training and performance support for those
initiatives. We also helped our clients exploit Web-based
opportunities; the next great expression of e-Learning. In 2001, USERTECH/Canterbury
became a part of Canterbury Consulting Group, a Medford,
NJ corporation specializing in training and technology
for the domestic corporate market. To this mix, USERTECH/Canterbury
brings: superior instructional
design expertise
custom learning development talent
a rich tradition of technical application
It is these skills, along with a proud history and national presence
that have helped us achieve a position of both prominence and excellence
in the performance support market. The
people of USERTECH/Canterbury recognize the inherent
value of establishing and nurturing a continuous learning
culture within any organization. And more specifically,
we understand the importance of the human being in the
ultimate success of any endeavor. In fact, our founding
quote is as valid today as it was in 1979:
